Koharu met up with Miroku when she was 11 years old, and told Miroku that she would gladly bear his children when she was of age. Miroku was 15 when he asked her that question. Inuyasha and the others meet up with her three years later, and she, now 14, believes that Miroku has returned to stay with her. Kagome and Sango couldn't believe he asked her when she was 11 to have his child. What's shocking was that she accepted his question. Kanna, one of Naraku's detachments, show up (with Kagura)both controls Koharu by Kagura's Dance of the Dead. With her soul stolen Kagura can control Koharu. Kagura tries to make Koharu attack Inuyasha and the others, but the plan backfires when Kagome's soul cracks Kanna's mirror. When Inuyasha and the others left, Koharu is still in belief that Miroku will return to her one day.

spirits, methods
Spiritual medium (such as miko) often practice the art of magical chants and spells. A shikigami is a spirit that usually accompanies that person. I'm just never sure exactly WHAT this could have possibly translated to in English, although I've come across the explaination that they could be thought of as "familiars." In Inuyasha, shikigami came in the form of Tsubaki's hebi (snake/serpant), and Kouchou and Asuka, the two girls who accompany Kikyou. There were also others, but those two come to mind as the most obvious examples. |

Midoriko is a Powerfull Priestess who forged the Skikon no tama(a.k.a. jewel of the four souls.She was reveared by the Demon exterminators and was feared by all demons for her great power and her ability to purify the souls of any living thing.Soon enough the demons had enough and decided to put an end to Midoriko.One day hundreds of demons gathered near the exterminators village and fused becoming one mighty demon.Priestess Midoriko fought the creature for 7 days and 7 nights keeping it at bay in a near by cave.The battle was long and Midoriko grew weak.Just as the Demon was about to devour her she clutched her chest and ripped the shikon no tama from it.Using the last of her strength she subdued the beast.Unfortunately she didin't survive and somehow in the attempt to purify the beast,both the demon and Midorikos souls were sealed within the Shikon jewel.After the demon exterminators discovered the cave of the big battle they sealed it and Made it into a memorial/armory where they made weapons and armor.As for the jewel it was intrusted to a young priestess named Kikyo for safe keeping. priestess Midoriko is considered to be the greatest priestess of the feudal era. |

Kagome's Family and Friends
Grandpa - Kagome's superstitious grandfather who runs the family shrine and makes outrageous excuses about Kagome's extended absence from school.
Mother - Kagome's mother who cheerfully accepts her daughter's decision to help out in the feudal age and does her best to provide her with things she might need.
Hojo - A kind-hearted, but clueless boy at Kagome's school who has a crush on her.

A very old flea with a vast knowledge of the supernatural. He's lived to such an age by being a coward in the face of danger. He knew Inyusha father very well and serve him like he does Inyusha.

Bokusenou : When we first see Bokusenou, Sesshoumaru has come to speak with him about Tessaiga, Inuyasha's inherited sword. Bokusenou is a tree demon who is very old and very knowledgable despite the fact that he seems to be rooted to the spot. He donated a few of his branches to make the scabbard for Tessaiga, which is why the scabbard has some magical properties of its own. He reveals to Sesshoumaru that Tessaiga is a guardian sword for Inuyasha, and that it keeps Inuyasha's demonic blood from consuming his mind. |

Bunza
Bunza : This character did not appear in the manga, but he certainly did meet Inuyasha in the anime series. When Inuyasha went to Toutousai for training with his sword, he met Bunza, who also came to get training, but for entirely different reasons. Bunza was annoying at first, but they became good friends, and Inuyasha even got the chance to help out Bunza's tribe. |
Buyo
Buyo : Buyo is the Higurashi family cat. Fat, weird-looking, and funny, the cat serves simply as a comic relief, but I must admit that some of the funny things he does are cute, too. One thing important to note: if Kagome hadn't gone into the building that housed the Bone-Gobbling Well to help Souta find Buyo, she may not have been dragged into it by Mukadejourou, the centipede demon. |
